His Excellency the Minister of Trade and Industries has appointed a new board, and I am privileged to chair the Food Export Council for this second term.

I have to start by congratulating my previous colleagues for their outstanding achievements and results boosting Egypt's Food Export to a record high of 7 billion Egyptian Pounds. This success will pave the way for more challenges and new record breakup.
Our objectives remain the same, we will continue our support for the industry and exporters, we will lobby between the industry and the government with a clear strategy, reach the ultimate goal and drive food export to 15 billion Egyptian pounds by 2011.

Our strategy is to focus on the value of Egyptian brands, brands have a tremendous value to the people who believe in them, the more people have reason to believe in a brand, the more that brand becomes to them. Egypt has great brands, they are the driving force for the Industry growth, locally and regionally, they meet international standards that assure our customers that quality and value are being met.

We will also focus on quality which is an exacting standard, it is a standard defined by consumers. In Egypt, we are committed to providing consumers with consistent high quality products and we are paying attention to the details of process control.

With focus on brands and quality we will meet our customers and consumers expectations for the years to come
